Lauren Lately
I think Lauren has hit another growth spurt, physically and mentally. She has been so much fun the last few weeks. (She was always fun before.) I don't know how to explain it really, maybe it's that she can communicate a little better or I'm better at understanding her, but we've had far fewer tantrums lately.
She's been really snuggly, which is awesome, because before I was lucky if I could catch her to get her clothes on in the morning. She likes to sit and cuddle with me and read stories. She'll randomly run up to me and hug me as tight as she can and pat me on the back. Makes me feel pretty good.
She loves to color. I put her coloring books and crayons where she can reach them. (After she learned that drawing on the walls was NOT acceptable!) She pulls them out and lays down on the floor to color all the time. She won't get the crayons out all at once though. She'll grab one or two and then run back when she wants different colors.
Her happy, skippy run makes me laugh. She hardly walks anywhere anymore, but kind of runs, hops and jiggles her way around.
She has a great pouty face. I will tell her no to something and she will slump her shoulders and stick out her lip and harrumph. It's pretty funny, I much prefer it to the fits she would throw before!
Nursery has been a problem the last month or so. She did great before but just clings to us and sobs when we take her in now. I need to be better about just leaving her, it's just hard when I know she's screaming for the leaders and I can't pry her fingers from my arm.
Careful What you Wish For
Lately I had been a little frustrated with my calling in Activity Days. We only had two girls so the primary decided to just have them go with the older group. Which was best for the girls, but it made me feel like I had nothing to do. I have a hard time making friends and being social and I know callings help alot getting to know people. I should be better about making friends and being outgoing, but I couldn't help but wish sometimes that I was in a situation to easily meet (call me lazy) more people in the ward. Maybe Heavenly Father felt I needed some more interaction as well.
Well, long story-short, I was called to be the second counselor in the primary this week! I am super excited and think it will be really fun. I am very nervous though that I will be able to serve the way I need to. Hopefully though, being sick is on it's way out the door. Perhaps this prenatal/iron/juice thing came at a heavenly timed moment and I'll be just fine from here.
The other night I was thinking about all the things I got to do while I was in primary. Most of my memories from being little revolve around being in primary and helping my mom while she was in the presidency. I remember staying after church with her and my sisters and we would do egg-beater twirls with our dresses in the back of the room while they had their meeting and learning all the new songs. I'm excited to be in Primary again!

The Solution and the Problem
Iron- who would've thought? Too much iron can make you sick, throw-up sick. I'm slightly perturbed that my doctor didn't mention that this could be the case.
So we tried an experiment- I went for 4 days without taking my prenatal vitamin. The nausea didn't totally go away but was a whole lot more manageable than before.
Just to test, I took a vitamin last night and woke up puking.
So I called the doctor today to see if there were other vitamins I could take or if I could stop taking it completely.
She said it would be perfectly fine to stop taking the vitamin altogether... as long as I had a few glasses of orange juice everyday to get enough folic acid and stuff.
The problem... I LOATHE orange juice.
Weird, I know.
So what brands of super-sweet, non-pulpy, orange juice do you all like?

Whining
Please allow me to whine for a few seconds... I am so tired of being sick!
Nothing sounds good... and I love to eat.
I'm losing weight... which in most circumstances I would rejoice, but not when I'm pregnant.
Even Pinterest makes me sick with all those meant-to-be-delicious-looking recipes.
I want to take Lauren out and do more things, but it's hard when I'm utterly exhausted and sick after just getting her shoes on.
Okay, I'm done.
Just keep thinking about a tiny, snuggly, warm baby. I can do this.

Another Baby Sized Bit of News
We are happy to announce that our family is growing!
Baby #2 will be coming to a hospital near you July 14th!
I stole this clip from my sister- who happens to be due 4 days after me- fun times!
(I'm sorry to those who feel like I have disappeared the last little while. Pretty much we've been watching Curious George 24/7 waiting for this awful nausea to go away. Hopefully it will soon!)

Sunday Thoughts
- I love 9:00 church.
- Lauren does not like 9:00 church.
- The huge Curious George Lauren got for Christmas might be the death of me. (It's nice that she loves it so much, but really not at the same time.)
- Mashed potatoes for Sunday dinner are the best.
- It's pathetic that we drive to church when it's around the corner, but it's so dang cold out there, and the snow the whole way there hasn't had a chance to melt at all: thus making us chickens not wanting to make Lauren walk through that or try and push the stroller.
- Although Lauren loves riding in the front seat with us for those 10 seconds.
- I'm excited about a new sewing prospect I'm looking into. We'll see how it goes!

Crayons
Guess who tested out her new crayons....
on the wall,
door,
couch,
chair,
pillow,
bookshelf,
truck,
doll chair,
and book?
Yep, you guessed right. And I only left her alone for 3 minutes!
