Great Danes?

Chase wants a dog. And so do I, but I want one when we will actually have some time to be home to take care of it. So I've been thinking about it lately and I've been kind of stuck on the idea of a great dane. I think I'm crazy, but I've heard they're actually really gentle and calm. So I was just browsing on KSL today to see what there was in the dog department and I found this little great dane puppy...

I want one. Now if only they didn't eat so much...

Smile Today

"A university professor set an examination question in which he asked what is the difference between ignorance and apathy. The professor had to give an A+ to a student who answered: I don't know and I don't care." - Richard Pratt, Pacific Computer Weekly, 20 July 1990

I thought it was pretty funny. :)

Our Happy Valentine's Day

It's been one crazy week! But we made it through and here are some pictures of our valentine's celebration.

Friday last week we went down to my parent's to see my brother in the annual Davis High Lover's Feast Dinner. It was pretty neat especially since my brother had a lead part in it this year. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of him in his middle ages costume, complete with tights and "pumpkin shorts" as he called them.

Saturday I came home to these which Chase got for me.

And later that day he went and got me some shelves that I've wanted for a long time so I could clean up our food storage/pantry. I was really excited about this one! We can actually get into this closet now!

Saturday night we went to Firehouse for dinner. I love their chicken cordon bleu pizza. Then of course got some ice cream.

Sunday we actually had a meeting with the Stake Presidency, and Happy Valentine's day to us, they called Chase to the elder's quorum presidency in our ward. He'll do a great job and learn alot I'm sure, I just hope we have the time to fit everything in! Everything will work out, it always does.

This is my latest project. I love being able to take these pieces of fabric...

and turn them into this quilt top. The picture doesn't really do it justice, it's supposed to be aqua blue and brown, not black. I'm trying to find someone around here who can machine quilt it for me to finish it up. Does anyone know someone who does that?

New Scrapbook Website

I just found a great digital scrapbooking freebie site! I was getting a little tired of Digifree and Shabby Princess, maybe this is old news but I was excited! And they have pretty cute stuff for it being free.

Find the website here.

Book Ideas Anyone?

I just finished a book series. You know the feeling you have when you've finished a really good book and all the characters were your friends: kind of sad? I've been reading this series for the last five weeks. They weren't the greatest but I got hooked and now that I'm done, I don't know what to do with those spare hours between class and work. I never knew what a dilemma this would be! I feel kind of lost without my book to read! Silly I know. I have a list of books I'd like to read someday, but none of them are striking my fancy right now. Any ideas for some other good books?

Yay, You!

We were up in Idaho this weekend and Chase found this book while looking through some of his old stuff. He got it as a graduation present from one of his aunts. I really like it... pretty much sums up how I feel about life right now: not quite sure where to go from here!

Yay, You!
Moving Out, Moving Up, Moving On
By Sandra Boynton

Yay, you!
You did it! You're done!
You made it! You're through!

Oh, what a great moment!

Now what will you do?

There are so many choices. The world is immense.
Take a good look around and decide what makes sense.

Some like to go fast. Some like to go slow.
Some like to get going however they go.

Some strive to be peaceful, and joyful, and wise.
Some choose to just ponder the size of their thighs.

So look north! And look south!
Look ahead! Look behind!

Stare into the mirror... Now. What do you find?

Should you live where it's cold? Should you live where it's hot?

Do you want to be terribly busy? Or not?

Do you need lots of friends, or only a few? Would you like to have friends with a new point of view?

Is your mind moved by science? Or does art move your soul?
Do you listen to rivers, or to great rock-and-roll?

Do you long for adventure? Do you love to read maps?
Would you rather stay home with your chocolate, perhaps?

You already have wit. You already have style.
You have very kind eyes and a dazzling smile.

But now...
But now...
But now...
BUT NOW...

Hey! What's the hurry, anyhow! There are places to get to!
And projects to do! People to talk with and lunches to chew!

But stopping a while is okay, too.

And whatever you do--now or later,
big or small, loud or quiet--
whatever you do, don't worry.
Just try it.
Whatever you do, whether near or so far, I know you'll be great.

You already are.

Yeah so that wasn't our car...

Chase and I drive separate to school and work every day because our schedules are so different this semester. I walked out to the parking lot after getting off work and got to our car. I noticed the locks were up, which I thought was wierd since I always check to make sure I locked it up. Then I see what looks like a laptop case in the back seat; I think: That's weird, Chase doesn't usually come find the car during the day. He must have needed to put his laptop in the car.

I proceeded to open the door and was greeted with a pleasant aroma which is not usually present in our car. I notice a water bottle that isn't ours, and a sticker on the dashboard. At this point I am thinking we were victims of some random person putting their stuff in our car by accident. My next thought was maybe we were lucky winners of all this stuff because I happened to leave the car unlocked all day and someone was feeling nice.

I happen to glance up and notice that our car was actually parked NEXT to the car that had it's door open and me looking at all this stuff.

I can't figure out which is more disturbing; the fact that I didn't recognize that it wasn't our car the moment I walked up to it, or that it took me a full few minutes and several thought processes before I figured out it wasn't our car.

It must have been a longer day at work than I thought!

Oh the Sun!

I can actually see BLUE sky and FEEL the sun after WEEKS of cloudy/foggy, icy cold inversion weather! Yay.
