Facebook Fueds

Facebook is getting old, and I'm tired of it. It used to be a convenient way to satisfy my nosiness and find out what family/friends were up to. Now it's just a political/religious feud. No matter how many times people try to convince me of an idea by continually posting things bashing others is not going to change my beliefs or opinion, because honestly, Facebook is not and should not be the premier source of all knowledge and information. There's my soap box. I'm done.

Jumpn'!

We went outside this afternoon to get a little sun before bedtime and Lauren made a beeline for the neighbor's swing set. Our cute, fun neighbor kids came out and helped her jump on their trampoline. And she had an absolute ball! These kids are so good and gentle with her and she just loved them!

We tried getting her to come inside to get ready for bed and she'd yell "Jumpn' mom!"

Two Peas in a Pod

 Lauren has a cousin just a few weeks older than her. And they're best friends! They look like twins running around with their blond hair and blue eyes. It's hard to tear them apart when they play together. I'm glad she has a cousin her age since I grew up without any.

Playing in the sandbox for hours together. They thought it was absolutely hilarious to dump sand on Lauren's head. I'm still finding it stuck to her scalp!

Tucking in Uncle Brian to have a pretend sleep-over party. I love Dallin's cheese grin.

Naptime lately has been interesting. Since she can get out of her bed now, I usually find this; all her clothes, shoes and stuffed animals get tucked in too.

I had a doctor's appointment last week so I dropped her off with Chase at a park during his lunch break so they could have a daddy-daughter playdate. She loved it so much we went back later that night to play some more!

We're going to attempt potty-training here in the next few weeks. I am not looking forward to it. But I'd like to have her good and trained before this baby comes. Any ideas and suggestions from you experienced moms? I've read a few things about how to go about it, but never having done it, I have no idea what to do!

Cheesecake Wedding Cake

Here's the finished cake for my sister-in-law's wedding. I was so glad it actually worked!

So now I have a bunch of different size spring-form pans...if anyone needs a cheesecake wedding cake, just let me know!

Lessons from a Baked Potato

Dreams are normal for me; uber crazy pregnancy dreams are even more normal. But every once in awhile, I get one that seems to make some sense.

Last night I dreamed I was in church running around like my head was cut off trying to get everything done with callings, family etc.

I had forgotten I was supposed to teach Sharing Time in primary so I ran home and frantically tried to figure something out during Sunday School.

Getting back to church there was word going around there was a special meeting with a general authority. I went to the meeting. There was a powerpoint going with a picture of a yummy baked potato with just butter melting all over it. The speaker (don't know who it was) explained that the gospel was like a baked potato. It was best if it was kept simple. Adding other things, like cheese, chili, etc. took away the flavor of the simple potato so you couldn't even taste the potato anymore. (Don't know why a baked potato was the choice of analogies my brain chose here, since baked potatoes smothered with lots of things are really good! Made me really want to eat one now.)

I left the meeting feeling good about life and being uplifted. Later that day during family dinner it dawned on me that I had forgotten to go to primary, and had forgotten completely about the Sharing time I was supposed to do. I felt terrible and couldn't believe I had forgotten. After lamenting over it for a long time, my mom finally looked at me and said, "You made a mistake, it's okay, you'll do better. Now get over it!" Well okay then!

So there we go, life lessons from your baked potato; keep it simple and let go of mistakes.

Wedding Weekend

They're married! And we're so happy for them!

It was a crazy busy few days but we made it home and hopefully life will calm down for a little while.

The temple was great; it was one of the neatest sealings I've been to. Elder Mickelsen of the 70 sealed them since he is in my in-law's ward and a family friend. Lauren loves her Aunt Callee and ran right up to her to give her hugs when they came out of the temple. It was pretty cute.

The post-wedding celebrations turned out awesome too. The food, party and decorations were great. And the cake turned out! Phew. I should be better about taking our camera with us. But sometimes it's just another thing to lug around. So I'll have to get the picture of the cake from my sister.

Saturday morning the family threw a shower for me and Chase's cousin, who is due a few weeks before me. I was thoroughly spoiled and got lots of cute little boy things. Thanks again Jenny for putting it all together!

The Sweetie Bug Shop

Here's what I've been working on the last little while...

Crocheted blessing booties and flannel blankets!

My little shop name is Sweetie Bug in the Mom-to-Mom section of the store. There are four different styles of shoes; two boy and two girl. There's also blanket sets that have one flannel receiving blanket and two matching burp cloths - all wrapped up and ready to give as gifts!
