I'm Really Excited...

Because:

We had a great Thanksgiving and got to see the lights at Temple Square...

I put up Christmas decorations and the Nativity set I got for Christmas last year...

I finished up all my projects that had been waiting...

And after this week I will pretty much be done with school for the semester!

I Know that Thanksgiving isn't even here yet...

But it was snowing today and it felt like it should or could be Christmas so I allowed myself one breakdown of doing anything Christmas related. So I changed the background on our blog. But in keeping with the tradition of not thinking about Christmas before Thanksgiving, thus giving ample time to truly give thanks for what we have, I will not be listening to Christmas music, or putting up any other decorations of the sort until after Thursday :)

We're Almost There

I figured it was about time for another post. Someday I'll actually get around to posting pictures of Halloween, but no pictures for this post, sorry!

We're on the home stretch for the semester and I am very glad. It's been a very rewarding semester, but really long and hard. I just have to get through the next two and half weeks and after that everything will pretty much be done!

I finally got my capstone paper written. Hopefully the first draft will come back without too much red on it, so the final will be easy to fix! My group is implementing the health program we've been writing this week so we can wrap that up. I've never been a fan of group projects, but I have the best group ever and they've made this monster of a class a whole lot more bearable.

I registered for my last semester of college. Thankfully next semester will be pretty easy and laid back compared to this one, so I'm looking forward to it. Chase changed his major to CS finally! He spent so much time just trying to get into the MIS program it was more trouble that it was worth, so hopefully this will work out better for him.

We got to go up to Idaho this weekend for a much needed break from school life. We got to see some old friends that moved up there and went to the temple with Chase's parents. We haven't been for awhile so it was nice to go.

I am so excited for Thanksgiving! Mostly because I just might actually have the time to get some projects done that have been waiting for months. Quite excited to spend some time with my family and finally get our apartment feeling like we actually live there!

Not Much Going On

Yeah, not much has been happening these last few weeks. Well, kind of. By not much happening, I mean fun things mostly. Midterm has hit so LOTS of stuff has been happening with school, but that's pretty much it.

p.s. We are excited for my family to come up for Halloween and celebrate though!

Trip to the Zoo!

On Saturday we got to go down to the zoo with my family. I hadn't been for a long time and Chase had never been (shock!) so it was really fun! There were lots of baby animals there this time and I think the funnest part was seeing my nephews reactions to all the animals.

Here's Heidi with Thomas and my mom and Michael in the background.

Chase holding up Michael so he could see the baby elephant.

All of us looking at the giraffes.

Mommy and Baby

Chase and Heidi so thrilled about the giraffes!

Project Bookshelves: Complete

After lots of this...

Came these!

Now we only have one more to finish up! They've ended up being quite the project, but I really like how they turned out. Now we just need more books to fill them up... you can never have too many books!

Uplifted

I finally got around to posting these from last weekend. We were able to go down to Salt Lake with Chase's family on Saturday and hit both sessions of conference. Thankfully we got in on standby for the morning sessions and then had tickets for the afternoon. It was a fun experience since I've never been to a live session before! I would have to say Elder Bednar's talk was my favorite; perfect recipe for a happy family. Conference is always my two favorite times of the year.

We also got to go see John Schmidt in concert last night with some of my family. I love his concerts! They're always so fun. He did kind of play Love Story Meets Viva la Vida, which I was very glad about. If you haven't heard this song, you're missing out! I like how good you feel after his concerts.

Thank goodness for uplifting things! :)
