Eventful Easter and a Long Week

We had a fun Easter! Chase's parents came down for the weekend and we went to the temple for Cal's birthday, hung out on Saturday and went to dinner for Chance's birthday, then headed to Lehi bright and early Sunday morning for a family baby blessing. We had Easter dinner at our house followed by an easter egg hunt! We had a fun weekend!

And then Chase's Dad texted Monday night telling us that his Mom was being admitted to the hospital for an intracranial bleed. Long story short, she had a hemorrhagic stroke and spent most of the week in the ICU. The good news is that she is expected to make a full recovery within the year since there isn't any brain damage; she will regain everything as the blood absorbs and clears out of her brain. Scary stuff. She will be in rehab for a few weeks at the hospital and hopefully be able to go home afterwards.

I am just so glad that she will be okay. Honestly, this scared me to death as my Dad had a stroke 12 years ago when I was 15. It was traumatic and I was scared thinking that my mother-in-law might have to deal with the same thing. It's crazy how life throws things at you, I keep wondering and asking why this had to happen twice, I don't know the answer yet, but in the end, it will all be okay.

Gag Reflex

I need some help from anyone who knows anything to try! Gavin has an uber sensitive gag reflux. I'm pretty sure it's stemmed from his acid reflux and that's one of the reasons he doesn't like to eat. Well now he's teething... which gives him a super runny nose that runs down the back of his throat and gags him. Every time he gags he throws up the entire contents of his stomach.

He's hardly eaten anything for the last two days either because he's thrown it all up or won't even eat it in the first place. I feel bad for the poor boy since his mouth hurts and he's hungry! Any ideas out there? The nurse at the doctor's office said to try the best I could to get him to eat, give him tylenol, and watch for dehydration, but seriously... does anyone know how to help with that nasty reflex?

9 In and 9 Out

We have thoroughly enjoyed and loved our sweet little man these last 9 months! How can you not love that grin?

The Dr. today said he looked "as near perfect as he can get." I'll take that! He made me feel better about his eating habits. He's still growing like he should even though he still won't let me put a spoon in his mouth!

Lauren's Birthday

Lauren loves to play with our mesh laundry baskets. I went into the bedroom to put some clothes away then walked back in the living room to find this...

It was so funny that he fit so perfect in there and was happy as a clam! Apparently Lauren thought he would be "happy" in his own little cage and even slid in a book and a cracker for him!

3 Years Old

It's amazing that 3 years can take a brand new baby to a spunky, feisty, and sweet little girl. Little changes every day that you don't even notice... then all of a sudden they're like a whole new person! I'll admit this last year has been hard with her...growing and learning is hard work, both for her and me. But we wouldn't trade her for anything! We love you sweetie bug!

Bedtime Talks

About a week ago I was tucking Lauren into bed. We were reading her "kitures" (scriptures) she stopped me and wide-eyed excitedly asked "Jesus come play today?"

I didn't really know what to say and told her it was bedtime and He couldn't play right now, she was frustrated with that answer and kept asking.

I finally told her that He could always see her and that if she was a good little girl, she would get to see Him.

To that she responded, "And He play too?"

I told her yes, because as her Brother, I can imagine that He would. :)
