Weather in Utah

Spring... will you ever come? I know you really want to, you've shown your face for a few days, so why is it snowing again?

Easter

We didn't do a whole lot for Easter. It was nice to be home and just be together. We took Lauren to church for the first time and she did great! Thank goodness, I don't know what I would have done if she had decided to throw a fit. I'm a little nervous how I'm going to handle her with Chase being on the stand during sacrament meeting.

My mom made her a little Easter dress and she looked so darn cute!

Thursday Thoughts

-Time flies when you're having fun, or getting no sleep! :)

-I really would like to find a fun spring project to work on while I don't have to go to work for the next few weeks. Any ideas?

-There's just something special about thunderstorms.

-Left arm is falling asleep now while I hold Lauren.

-I'm having a moral dilemma: I really like my job and am kind of excited to get back into the swing of things there, but I feel guilty that I feel like that not wanting to stay at home 24/7 with Lauren. But at the same time, the idea of going back to work and leaving her makes me want to cry! Arg...

-Getting fun mail is one of my most favorite things.

-Leftover alfredo for lunch today!

-Never thought I was lacking in arm strength until having to carry the car seat around. Who needs weights?

- Seriously in need of clothes that fit. Maternity pants are falling down, my regular clothes don't fit yet in certain areas and just the thought of wearing maternity shirts still just makes me sad! Anyone know of any good sales going on?

- Being able to lay on my stomach and bend over is amazing!

2 Weeks

Well we survived the first two weeks home! Getting used to a new baby has been majorly time consuming, but fun! Our little angel baby has shown us her temper in the last few days; she has a perfectly feminine high pitched squeal when she's not getting what she wants. :)

We took her to her two-week check-up yesterday and she's growing like a weed, so hopefully we're doing something right! She's almost gained a whole pound just in these last two weeks.

We've had lots of visitors and appreciate all of the dinners and presents that they brought!

Lauren got to meet her three cousins last week. The number of grandkids on my side of the family doubled in the matter of a month! We had to take some pictures of Lauren with her new cousin Dallin who is three weeks older than she is. It was pretty cute!

We've had a pretty exciting couple of weeks. Dallin was blessed on Sunday and it was great to see family and grandparents. We celebrated my mom's birthday this week, we're taking my brother's prom pictures tomorrow, Easter is coming up soon, then we'll bless her and then my sister is getting married! It's going to be a crazy and fun couple of months!

Home and Healthy

We made it home and Lauren is healthy and happy! It's nice to be home and able to walk around and eat food that I actually want. So far Lauren has been a little angel baby. She doesn't cry very much at all, just squawks a few times when she's hungry every three hours on the dot.

I have new-found respect for women who have really long labors. 28 hours did me in and it's a good thing she came when she did because I didn't have anything left in me. Thank goodness for epidurals though!

I'm pretty shocked that her name isn't Kyrie. She came out and Chase looked at her and said "She's a Lauren." And that was that! It's fits her.

She did spend a few days in the NICU which wasn't very fun with an IV sticking out of her head. Thankfully though it was just some sort of little infection that the doctor wanted to take care of before it went full-blown and made her really sick.

Thanks again for all the prayers, messages, texts and love sent our way. We appreciate all of you and feel loved!

We Have a Baby!

She's here! Lauren Clare Christensen, 7 lbs 3 oz 19 inches long, Thursday March 31 at 11:12pm. I'm doing great although Lauren is in the NICU right now for a small infection. Nothing serious at all so no worries! Thanks for all the calls, texts and thoughts sent our way. We'll get some pictures up when we have a little more time. She's a cutie!
