Packing Up... Again!

It's so weird to actually think that we're buying a house. It seems surreal; like we'll wake up tomorrow and we'll both be back in school and working full time. But we're not! The sellers counter-offered but it was very reasonable so we accepted it!

So here's the details for those of you who have been asking. And I'm just so plain giddy and excited, bear with me while I go through all of the amazing nitty gritty details to show just how grateful we are to have found this house.

The house is in Nibley about 10 minutes south of Logan. Perfect for Chase to commute to work and to get out of busy Logan but still be close enough to go shopping and stuff.

We're on the top of a small knoll in the middle of the valley so we have a great view of the mountains and valley around us. We're also in between the two major highways in Cache Valley, making it nice to get where we need to go.

The house was built in 2003 but seriously looks brand new. It's a rambler with 4 finished bedrooms with room for 2 more in the basement. There's 2 finished bathrooms with room for 1 more in the basement. It has a big open kitchen, dining, and great room area. There's a master bathroom with a marble tub and walk-in closet. There's a nice laundry/mud room off the garage with lost of storage space. And the storage room downstairs! I think this is my favorite part, it's amazing! Fully shelved and painted with tons of room. There's also a small office finished in the basement so Chase can have his man-cave right off. The staircase is extra wide and there are stairs from the garage to the basement.

One of the things that sold us on this house was how it met our needs right now and will for a long time, but there is potential to expand in the basement. There's room for 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a big family room.

The house is on half an acre giving Chase lots of room for our OUTSIDE dog. :) The landscaping is all done in the front yard, and we'll just have to put in grass in the backyard, the sprinkler system is already done!

This house is also one of the best built ones we've looked at. Everything is custom from the lighting, cabinets and molding above the windows and doors. It's not a huge house but has plenty of room to last us for the rest of our lives. The church is right around the corner and there are plans for a park right down the street. The schools are also great and it looks like there is a good mix of families in the neighborhood. The neighborhood is pretty open too with space between the houses. There's open farm fields to the west of us so we still feel like we're not living right in the city.

When we found this house online, we didn't really think anything of it since the pictures do NOT do it justice, but thought we could at least check it out. My uncle, who is our realtor, always told us that we would know which house was ours within the first ten seconds of walking in. Well this was it! We're so blessed that it's within our price range too since it normally wouldn't be. My uncle estimates that it's about $40k-$50k under-priced; why it's been on the market for as long as it has is beyond us.

Anyway.. we're just so gosh darn excited we can barely see straight! Our goal is to close on the 25th, which seems really soon! I'm not looking forward to packing, again. This will be the 6th time in five years, but it will be the last time for hopefully forever!
