Fun at the Fair

We had a great time at the fair on Saturday. Lauren loved the rides and Gavin loved the tractors!

Swimming Lessons

Lauren did great with swimming lessons this year. She loved her class and teacher and even jumped off the diving board the last day. She still needs to work on putting her face in the water but she loves the water. Gavin did not like the water, he was fine if he could stand by himself in the kiddie pool but he screamed the the whole 45 minutes the first day. I think we'll try again next year poor kid!

Grocery Shopping Ban

Lately, I have two kiddos that detest grocery shopping. It used to be a mildly pleasant experience, but after the last two shopping trips, I don't ever want to show my face in Walmart or Macey's again!

Gavin threw an all-out, hysterical fit at Walmart a few days ago. I don't know why he has such an aversion to riding in the cart, but I strapped him in and made him. Holy. Cow! I was deaf by the time we made it out. Thank goodness we only had to get a few things. A nice older lady, (Lauren said she was a Grandma) offered me two suckers which helped keep Lauren quiet for awhile, and eventually helped Gavin calm down. Bless her.

The car carts at Maceys used to hold their attention. Not anymore. At least the worst part of the tantrum occurred in the pet isle where we were mostly by ourselves.

Maybe not going shopping for so long while my foot was broken did something to their shopping hatred.

I think I'll stick to ordering on online at Lee's.

Bear Lake: Round 2

Bear Lake with Chase's family this last week was great! Lots of fun, water, and biting flies. :)

Wedding Cake

A girl in my sister's ward was getting married and looking for someone to make the wedding cake.  I was happy to get another shot at a cheesecake wedding cake! I learned a few things from the last one so this went together much easier. I thought it turned out pretty decent, even though the topper they picked was not my favorite.

Enjoying Summer

A girl in our ward hosted a little "hula camp" for the little girls. They spent a few hours learning a dance then performed at the end for the parents. Lauren thought it was a blast!

Feeding the geese at the park. Gavin was more interested in trying to stuff a whole hot dog bun in his mouth. :)

Spent a day at Tony Grove with my family.

Gavin finally got in the canoe and helped Grandma paddle.

Birthday Boy!

Our little man turned 2 on Wednesday. These last few years have flown by. Gavin warms my heart and makes me smile. He has a feisty side but can be so sweet. He loves dinosaurs and makes the best dinosaur growls! He's very cautious, he wants so badly to run and play like a big kid but anything new makes him a little nervous. He's a cleaner, he loves to vacuum and wipe up messes. He's still a little guy, only in the 20th percentile for weight. I'm convinced he lives on air and sugar! We're slightly concerned that he doesn't talk hardly at all, but we're checking into it and hopefully one of these days he'll burst out with full sentences. His growls and grunts are just too cute!

We celebrated up in Idaho and again at home. He loves his new power tools, dinosaur, tractor and playdough toys. We love you Gavin!
